Tennis Bracelets, they look stunning, feel amazing and not like a bulky bangle or cuff. They look glamourous on the red carpet, down the aisle and even on your beautiful bridesmaids.

Layered together in white, yellow or rose gold or even with different cut stones and stone sizes, the classic tennis bracelet is a staple and must have for every woman’s wardrobe.

However many question why is the tennis bracelet called the ‘tennis bracelet’?  The history behind the tennis bracelet is intriguing and very iconic to the jewellery industry. The classic diamond tennis bracelet is very attractive and adored by most women.

 

History

In the 1987 Tennis Open match, U.S tennis star Chris Evert was mid game when her bracelet featuring a strand of diamonds and clasp fell onto the court. This unfortunate wardrobe malfunction caused the game to halt so a search could be completed to salvage Evert’s now famous bracelet. Now what was once known as an eternity or inline bracelet is referred to as the classic ‘Tennis Bracelet’.

Over the years, the classic tennis bracelet has become an elegant fashion statement and make great gifts for anniversaries, graduations, birthdays or any special occasion.
